General electronic devices typically use electricity or secondary batteries as their primary power source. However, when the primary power supply is interrupted, the system memory can be damaged, requiring backup power for memory storage and a separate battery for Real-Time Clock (RTC) functionality. Li-SOCl₂ batteries are particularly well-suited for memory backup and RTC applications due to their high voltage, stable voltage maintenance until the end of discharge, maximum energy density, extremely low self-discharge rate, and wide operating temperature range.

Initially, Li-SOCl₂ batteries were used for memory backup and RTC in personal computers. Although demand in this specific application has declined due to reduced internal current consumption, their use and demand in other similar applications have continued to grow. Major applications include computers, vending machines, electric rice cookers, digital set-top boxes, banking automation devices (ATMs and cash dispensers), portable banking devices, automotive electronic systems, electronic electricity meters, wireless POS terminals, PLCs, PABXs, CNC machines, industrial clocks, and more.

XenoEnergy supplies its batteries to leading global companies, leveraging its proven long-term reliability and performance.
